about

Title Track from the new Southern Raiders Band Album," Raise Southern Dixie," An incredible southern rock song about a Civil War ballad that could only be told from a true southern rock group. You know, He's from the North and She's from the South and they meet at the line somewhere along the beach. A very inspiring song that could be a great short story. Give it a listen we enjoyed writing this song. A little bit of Spanish acoustic guitar intro followed by twin, nearly Gothic, lead guitars to open the story. Try headphones at the end to hear the war effects as the war drum plays the song out. Sorry about the F-16’s though, but there are cannons and horses. Take a listen and if you like it buy we would certainly appreciate it and if you are interested in learning more about the Southern Raiders Band let us know we more than welcome you don’t shy away say HI. Besides, we can use all the fans we can win over. To learn more about us you can also check us out on our Facebook page, you can go to Facebook.com/southernraiders. RAISE SOUTHERN DIXIE

VERSE
SHE WORE RED RIBBONS IN HER HAIR
HER SOFT SKIN WAS BROWN WITH BLONDE HAIR HANGING DOWN
ACROSS THE HORIZON THE SUN WENT AWAY
THE MOON LIGHT LIT THE BEACH WITH THE SOUNDS OF CRASHING WAVES

ALL DOWN THE SOUTH BRIDGE THE TROOPS GATHER ROUND
WAITING FOR THE KING’S WORD TO TAKE THE VILLAGE TO THE GROUND
WE WERE JUST LOVERS CAUGHT IN BETWEEN
A LINE DRAWN BY WAR THAT NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN

CHORUS
AND SHE CRIED RAISE SOUTHERN DIXIE YOUR FLAG UP TO THE SKY
MUST YOU BATTLE TILL THE LAST OF YOU HAVE DIED
I WANT MY FREEDOM LIKE ALL THE REST
BUT TO GIVE MY LIFE OUT HERE IS NOT WHAT I FIND BEST

VERSE
SHE WAS A WOMAN LIKE NONE I’DE EVER SEEN
SHE’S PRETTY AS PREMADONA FROM A FILTHY MAGAZINE
THE STAR LIGHT GREW FAST ACROSS THE SKY
MY FINGERS TOUCHED HER LIPS A SIN BUT PURE DELIGHT

LEAD

VERSE
WE HAD ONLY MOMENTS BUT THEY SEEMED LIKE HOURS
TO HOLD AND EMBRACE BEFORE THE BULLETS FILLED THE AIR
AND AS I LOOK IN HER EYES THE BLOOD RUNS DOWN HER FACE
JUST ANOTHER LOSS OF LIFE OH WHAT A HUMAN WASTE

CHORUS
AND I CRIED RAISE SOUTHERN DIXIE YOUR FLAG UP TO THE SKY
MUST YOU BATTLE TILL THE LAST OF YOU HAVE DIED
I WANT MY FREEDOM LIKE ALL THE REST
BUT TO GIVE MY LIFE OUT HERE IS NOT WHAT I FIND BEST
AND I CRIED RAISE SOUTHERN DIXIE OH…. OH
