This song is a nice southern pop rock tune that was part of a conversation I overheard at one of our shows. Well ideas for songs can come from anywhere and this proves that point. One young lady was telling another something about a relationship that I overheard while waiting on our sound tech to set some volume levels. Anyway, I overheard one girl say, “ It's like we can't ever get who we want," and the other girl said, " Yea but be happy if you can get somebody you need." Well I knew at that point there was a song there so I added a little happy cruising round the shopping mall and a boy in pursuit of someone he wanted that didn’t really feel the same for him and let him learn a valuable lesson…. that we don’t always get who we want, but, hopefully, someone we need. Even though that is not how we want it to be sometimes, but in the end, I guess, need is much more important than want.
